Can Gaia is a permaculture hub-education-demo-and research site in Mallorca, Spain. It is just shy of 1 hector (9000+m) with mixed garden food forest including 250 fruit trees, many of them citrus, olives, stone fruits and other multi story species. Can Gaia is a new active site in evolution with ongoing bio-constrution, water-wise projects and appropriate/alternative energy in development. Increasing biodiversity and including animals into the systems supports include chickens, ducks and family living here (Mandy Merklein). Can Gaia is an active participant of PermaMed.org and Youth in Permaculture activities, and supports regular permaculture meetings, community events, workshops, courses, and a resources library.
